We are currently seeking intervention staff for a school in the secondary department and based in the Tameside area. The school works with children that have ASC and SEMH needs.
The children are on EHCP plans and require a positive role model to engage and develop positive relationships with on a 1:1 basis. The school provides a nurture-based approach to supporting the young people, and aiming to provide them with the skills to transition into further education and training.
Please be aware that all applicants will be subject to background checks and will need a current DBS certificate (update service registered). Teaching Personnel can support your application should this be required.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm approximately, but you may be offered additional duties and responsibilities outside of these hours.
Schools require on and off support throughout the year depending on student intake and staffing needs, so there is always opportunity for contract extension and permanent roles for staff who are a great asset to the school.
The ideal candidate will have an outgoing and resilient personality and be able to work on their own initiative in regard to ensuring that health and safety procedures are met, and the welfare of the children. You will ideally have experience of working on a 1:1 with a variety of ability levels, from GCSE to Functional Skills. The ideal candidate will need a proven track record in teaching and have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
