Employment SpecialistLocation: Lambeth, Southwark and LewishamContract Type: 4 MonthsSalary: £18-£22 Ltd P/hClearance Required: Enhanced DBSAre you passionate about helping people find lasting employment and building strong relationships with local employers?We’re looking for a motivated and dynamic Employment Specialist to join our team and drive forward life-changing employment outcomes for our clients.About the Role As an Employment Specialist, you will be a vital link between our clients and the world of work. Your role is to build strong, sustainable partnerships with employers while supporting clients into employment, training, or meaningful work placements. You’ll match job-ready clients to appropriate vacancies, support them once in work, and ensure their success is sustainable.Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively develop and maintain a strong network of employer partners across the local area.
  • Promote clients to employers, raising awareness of our services and advocating for inclusive recruitment practices.
  • Facilitate access to work placements, work trials and employment opportunities aligned to clients’ skills and aspirations.
  • Deliver tailored in-work support to clients to help them maintain employment.
  • Work closely with Employment Coaches to identify and match job-ready clients to relevant vacancies.
  • Monitor local labour market trends and respond creatively to emerging employer needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date caseload records, tracking outcomes and progression.
  • Ensure timely updates of management information systems and reporting requirements for project funders.
  • Actively resolve any barriers to sustained employment through collaboration with employers and clients.
  • Engage in regular supervision, performance reviews and continuous professional development.
What We’re Looking For
  • NVQ Level 3 in Advice & Guidance or equivalent employment-related qualification (or willing to work towards).
  • Proven experience of supporting clients into employment and meeting outcome targets.
  • Strong understanding of local labour markets and employer needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience working across agencies.
  • Experience using case management systems and handling data accurately.
  • A passion for helping others and delivering positive change in communities.
