A major infrastructure services provider on one of the UK’s most high-profile nuclear construction projects at Hinkley Point C is seeking an experienced Specialist Cleaning Lead to take full responsibility for the delivery of specialist cleaning services in line with RCC-M nuclear cleanliness standards.

The Role

The Specialist Cleaning Lead will be accountable for the successful delivery of specialist cleaning across designated construction areas within a highly regulated nuclear environment.

This position requires a proven senior manager with experience delivering complex, compliance-led services, capable of leading multi-disciplinary teams while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead a specialist cleaning service aligned with RCC-M nuclear cleanliness standards
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality, compliance, and operational documentation
  • Perform regular operational inspections to identify recurring or unusual requirements
  • Author and maintain:
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    • Risk Assessments
    • Method Statements
  • Lead and develop site-based teams to deliver operational and strategic objectives
  • Support resourcing, recruitment, and training plans
  • Monitor performance and produce data for management reporting
  • Approve and manage planned procurement
  • Ensure full compliance with HSE standards
  • Oversee incident investigations, reporting, and corrective actions
  • Initiate and deliver safety stand-downs where required
  • Line management of assigned Building Logistics Managers

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong leadership style promoting safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to produce clear documentation, reports, and presentations
  • Experience within a high compliance and highly regulated environment
  • Cleaning, Facilities or Property experience
  • COSHH knowledge
  • NEBOSH or equivalent safety qualification
  • SMSTS or equivalent construction qualification
  • Full UK driving licence
