A forward-thinking and inclusive primary school in Gloucestershire is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 5 Class Teacher to join its dynamic Key Stage 2 team from September 2025. About the Role

As a Year 5 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a broad and balanced curriculum that challenges and inspires pupils as they prepare for the transition to Key Stage 3. You will work closely with a collaborative KS2 team to create an engaging, positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities include:

Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons across the curriculum

Monitoring and assessing pupil progress to tailor learning and support individual needs

*

Creating a classroom culture that encourages independence, curiosity, and resilience

*

Collaborating with colleagues to develop and enhance the curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities

*

Maintaining strong communication with parents and carers to support pupil development

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will be a passionate educator with a clear commitment to the academic and personal growth of their pupils.

Essential criteria:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

*

Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, preferably with Year 5 experience

*

A strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and assessment frameworks

*

Effective behaviour management and the ability to motivate pupils

*

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

*

A reflective and proactive approach to professional development
