We are seeking a dedicated Premises Manager to join our team at a vibrant primary school. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the school has the most suitable working environment for all staff and pupils, incorporating strategic planning and day-to-day operations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Coordinate and organise on-site services and resource requirements to maintain the site to the highest standard.
- Drive operational excellence across the premises, preparing documents for contract tendering in line with financial procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Security legislation, keeping all necessary records and developing school emergency procedures.
- Lead and develop the capacity of the on-site premises team, managing appraisals and staffing in light of school development.
- Manage budgets to ensure value for money and operate within school financial procedures.
- Oversee the leasing and letting of school facilities, developing systems and staffing to enable this.
- Develop and maintain an Asset Management system, ensuring comprehensive reporting and regular reviews.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Maths/English GCSE/GCE/O level or equivalent.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate colleagues at all levels.
- Substantial experience in contract management.
- Well-developed influencing and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders.
- Flexibility to adjust to changing work demands and meet conflicting deadlines.
- Proven administrative and ICT skills commensurate with the responsibilities of the post.
- Ability to form appropriate relationships with young people.
- A commitment to the school’s aims, ethos, and policies, including those relating to equalities.
