Head of Finance

A newly created Head of Finance role has arisen within a profitable, scaling financial services business. The company is entering an exciting phase of growth, investment and operational evolution, and requires a high-calibre individual to shape the finance function, strengthen controls and provide genuine commercial insight at board level. There is a clear and realistic progression route to Finance Director / CFO as the organisation continues to grow.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will take full ownership of the finance function across the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Production of accurate monthly management accounts and performance reporting
• Ownership of budgeting, forecasting and forward financial planning
• Cashflow and liquidity management
• Strengthening internal controls, governance and financial processes
• Oversight of statutory accounts and management of the external audit relationship
• Supporting funding requirements, capital planning and strategic growth initiatives
• Enhancing systems, reporting capability and automation
• Leadership and development of two Accounts staff.
• Whilst transactional processing is handled within the team, you will need to be comfortable overseeing activity in a busy, data-driven setting.
• The organisation is highly technology-focused and is actively exploring automation and AI solutions to improve efficiency and maintain competitive advantage.

About You:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
• Strong background in financial management, reporting and controls
• Previous team leadership experience
• Preferably experience operating within a fast-paced, transactional environment
• Confident leading budgeting, forecasting and cashflow processes
• Commercially minded, with the ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders
• Strong Excel and modelling capability; experience with BI/reporting tools is advantageous. Ideally already using LLM’s.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central advantageous

There is a clear and realistic pathway to progression into a Finance Director / CFO role as the business continues to grow.

This role would suit an ambitious Head of Finance seeking broader exposure, or a strong number two ready to step into a visible, commercially influential position within a secure and expanding organisation.
