Are you a Psychology or Education graduate looking to gain meaningful experience supporting pupils in a classroom setting?

About the RoleLong Term Futures are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in DE5 to appoint a Graduate Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term position. This is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates who are considering a career in education or educational psychology.

You'll be supporting class teachers with learning activities, behaviour support, and small group interventions - particularly with pupils who have additional needs such as autism, social communication difficulties, and SEMH.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom-based support across EYFS - KS2, including general TA duties

  • Support pupils with SEND on a 1:1 and small group basis

  • Deliver targeted interventions to help close learning gaps

  • Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment

  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families

  • Track and communicate progress to the class teacher and SENCO

What We're Looking For

  • A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field

  • Experience working with children (school, nursery, tutoring or youth work)

  • A calm, confident and resilient approach

  • A passion for supporting children's development - academically and emotionally

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in education or child development
