LEARNING DIFFICULTIES SUPPORT WORKERS

  • Local Southampton Company holding interview day on 12th November 2020 at their head office.

  • New client moving into Eastleigh area fantastic opportunity to work for local company

  • Full time Permanent 42 hour contract + overtime available (8am to 4pm, 4pm to 11pm, 11pm to 8am).

    £9.88 per hour. Sleep in rate is £8.72 per hour (1-2 every few weeks will be required).

  • Rate of pay reflect experience so please only apply if you have care or support experience and have a real passion for care.

  • Car driver preferred however applicants in Eastleigh area will still be considered

We are currently recruiting for our highly rated client who has complex Learning Difficulties Support. The candidates we require will need to have a passion for helping others and actively want to help our clients service users to live fulfilling, healthy and happy lives.

Every day is different you could be day to day support including medicine, community help like shopping, activities like cinema or working alongside them with occupation needs and support. Other areas can involve cooking, assisting living and dealing with challenging behaviour and possibly nonverbal communication.

This role is a 2 to 1 or 3 to 1 basis as the service user can exhibit challenging behaviour, but full training will be provided to build on your current position how to deal with this and calm situations down.

As the service user is relocating to Eastleigh from Oxford, you possibly be expected to attend training and handover in Oxford, but transport to there and accommodation will be provided by the company for this and reimbursement.

Support Worker requirements.

  • Have exceptional communication skills

  • Ensure the service users are supported at all times, promoting a safe and happy lifestyle

  • Work well under pressure

  • Have previous professional experience in this role or a care role

  • Know and understand non verbal communication and challenging behaviour

  • Work well with an elite and dynamic team
