Senior Residential Support Worker

We have a new opportunity for a Senior Residential Support Worker to work in a Children's Home in the borough of Richmond Upon Thames. The post is full time, and the salary is £11 to £12.50 per hour. As Senior Residential Support Worker you will be responsible for providing high quality care and a caring, therapeutic, and safe environment for the residents that meets and exceeds regulatory and legislative standards. A driver's licence is essential for this post

Key Duties of the Senior Residential Support Worker post

  • Planning and leading on shifts
  • Risk Management and effectively managing any incidents on shifts
  • Accurate documentation and report writing on the children and young adults' progress
  • Set up, manage, and review the residents care plans and risk assessments
  • Responsibility for the safety of the children and young people, staff, and visitors
  • Acting as a positive role model for the children and young people you are supporting
  • Supporting young people in making positive choices
  • Strong and effective, non-confrontational behaviour management skills
  • To be able to commit to a flexible rota, including some weekends and bank holidays
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Children's Act
  • To engage and motivate the children
  • Commitment to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice

The requirements for the Senior Residential Support Worker post

  • NVQ Level 3 for Children and Young People's workforce
  • Relevant experience working with young people in residential care
  • Experience and confidence working with EBD and children with challenging behaviours
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Organised and good time manager
  • IT Literate
  • Passion to help young people and a respect for them
  • Empathic and calm
  • Flexible approach and the ability and commitment to meet the ever-changing challenges of this post
