Our local authority are looking for an Transport Officer to join them on a temporary basis.

Job Purpose:
To support the efficient, effective and legally compliant delivery of passenger transport services across Leicestershire.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with planning, procurement and monitoring of passenger transport services.

*

Maintain positive working relationships with customers, colleagues and contractors.

*

Support inspections, performance monitoring and contract compliance.

*

Ensure vehicles are correctly licensed, insured and meet required standards.

*

Maintain accurate transport records, databases and management information.

*

Assist with reviews, training support and service improvements.

*

Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including handling enquiries and complaints.

*

Support school transport planning and annual reviews as required.

Requirements:

*

Background in transport or similar operational environment.

*

Strong organisational and IT skills.

*

Ability to work under pressure, independently and as part of a team.

*

Confident communicator with a good telephone manner.

*

Full driving capability and willingness to travel across Leicestershire.

*

Flexible, adaptable and empathetic approach.

*

Experience attending/running meetings and completing performance reviews.

*

Participation in an on-call rota.
