We are seeking a Cook who:

Prepares/cooks high quality foods and therapeutic diets.

Assists in food preparation and planning.

Provides direction to dietary aides as needed.

Works with the Dietary Manager to ensure appropriate menus/cooking plans for modified and therapeutic diets for residents

Helps coordinate and serves food to residents and ensures appropriate food temperatures and sanitation are maintained

Maintains appropriate portion control and emphasizes food presentation and quality control measures

Maintains order and cleanliness in work area, including clean-up of dishes and supplies

Demonstrates knowledge and exhibits sanitary food handling, preparation and storage techniques.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Possesses ability to work with all residents, employees, visitors, and supervisors in a pleasant, tactful and courteous manner

Ability to read, understand and follow recipes

Knowledge of measurements and various cooking methods

Knowledge of food preparation standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma or equivalent desired; Certificate in food service and extended courses or degree in Food/Nutrition is desired but not required
