Location: Jarrow
Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week
Salary: £15 per hour

About the Role

We're looking for a proactive and hands-on Dispatch Team Leader / Supervisor to join our growing operations team. This role combines leadership responsibilities with practical, day-to-day participation in dispatch activities (around 50% of your time will be hands-on).

What You'll Be Doing

🚛 Hands-On Dispatch & Warehouse Duties (Approx. 50%)

* Picking, packing, and dispatching customer orders.

* Completing final quality checks before products leave the site.

* Loading and unloading courier and pallet collections.

* Preparing consignments to meet courier and pallet network requirements.

✔️ Quality Control

* Acting as the final checkpoint for product quality and presentation.

* Checking for damage, correct specification, and completeness of orders.

* Ensuring all accessories and fixings are included.

* Recording and escalating quality issues.

👥 Team Leadership

* Supervising the daily activities of the dispatch team.

* Monitoring individual and team performance.

* Training team members on processes and quality standards.

* Managing holiday, sickness, and shift cover requirements.

📊 Performance & Process Improvement

* Tracking dispatch KPIs such as accuracy, cut-off times, and damage rates.

* Monitoring quality metrics including returns, missing items, and damages.

* Identifying bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.

What We're Looking For

* Experience in dispatch, warehouse, or operations roles (leadership experience preferred).

* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

* Ability to lead by example in a hands-on environment.

* Good communicator with problem-solving skills.

* Comfortable working with couriers and external partners.
