We are working on behalf of our client to recruit an experienced and dedicated Ofsted Registered Manager to lead a brand-new solo provision for children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), based in Solihull.

This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a new service and shape it from the ground up, with full support from a committed and experienced senior leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Residential Children’s Home in accordance with all relevant legislation, policies, and the home’s Statement of Purpose.
  • Lead, support, and guide staff to provide outstanding care and achieve positive outcomes for the young person.
  • Continuously assess the needs of the child and ensure services are tailored to meet those needs.
  • Participate in the recruitment, vetting, and induction of new staff.
  • Foster positive relationships with staff, young people, and all external stakeholders.
  • Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams and commissioning bodies to meet care requirements.
  • Promote professionalism and ethical practice across the team, offering coaching and support.
  • Support performance management and appraisals of residential staff.
  • Organise duty rotas to ensure the consistent delivery of care.
  • Manage budgets and adhere to the company’s financial procedures.
  • Uphold safeguarding and equality principles at all times.
  • Be the key contact for regulatory organisations and inspection bodies.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed to a high standard for regulatory review.
  • Promote therapeutic, respectful relationships between staff, young people, and families.
  • Participate in the on-call rota as required.
  • Contribute to wider corporate and management activities as directed.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as requested by the Directors.
  • Ensure all staff operate in line with Health and Safety regulations and promote a safe working culture.

Essential Criteria:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards this qualification.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience at a senior level within the social care or health sector.
  • Strong understanding of Ofsted requirements and safeguarding practices.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams in a residential care setting.
