Data Scientist – London – Hybrid Job descriptionBDO Regulatory Solutions are currently recruiting for a Data Scientist to join our client, a firm, based in London.We are offering an initial 3 month contract starting in January with an excellent day rate, employed via an Umbrella company.About the role:We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist to design and implement robust entity resolution solutions for complex, large-scale datasets. The role requires expertise in probabilistic and deterministic matching techniques and the ability to deliver production-ready solutions where ground truth is unavailable.Key responsibilities include;

• Develop and optimise entity resolution models using Splink.
• Apply statistical and machine learning approaches to improve matching accuracy.
• Design scalable solutions for linking records across diverse datasets.
• Validate and document methodologies to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
• Collaborate with technical teams to integrate solutions into operational environments.

About you:

• Knowledge of financial services/regulatory sector.
• Proven experience in entity resolution, including probabilistic and deterministic methods.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Splink for record linkage.
• Ability to work with incomplete or ambiguous data and design robust matching strategies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
