Nursery Assistant Manager

Erith, Bexley

Permanent

£30,500 – 32,0000

Are you ready to take the next step in your Early Years career?

We’re looking for a passionate Early Years Assistant Manager to join a vibrant, forward-thinking nursery where every child is valued, every team member is supported, and every day brings a new opportunity to inspire young minds.

About the Role

As part of the management team, you’ll work closely with the Nursery Manager to deliver exceptional early education and care. You’ll lead by example — supporting and motivating your team, creating a warm and stimulating environment, and ensuring that every child thrives emotionally, socially, and educationally.

You’ll also take an active role in planning, assessing, and driving quality improvements across the setting. From engaging families to implementing the EYFS framework, you’ll help shape a nurturing, inclusive space where children can explore, learn, and grow.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Support and guide staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences.
  • Plan and oversee engaging, age-appropriate activities indoors and outdoors.
  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers, ensuring open communication.
  • Step up in the Manager’s absence to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding, safety, and inclusion.
  • Help manage budgets, resources, and occupancy with a focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Promote the setting in the local community and champion continuous improvement.

Experience required:

  • A Level 3 qualification or above in Early Years Education and Childcare.
  • Hands-on experience working within an early years setting.
  • A deep understanding of child development and the EYFS framework.
  • A passion for inspiring both children and colleagues to reach their full potential.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
