About the Opportunity

A respected organisation within the industrial and engineering services sector is seeking an experienced Field Sales Manager to drive growth, shape strategic direction, and build strong commercial relationships across the UK. This role is ideal for a confident, solutions‑focused sales professional who can operate at senior level, deliver technical expertise, and act as a trusted advisor to clients navigating machinery safety and compliance requirements.

You will lead by example, support junior colleagues, and play a key part in strengthening the company's presence within manufacturing, engineering, and emerging technology environments.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with customers, particularly senior decision makers.
Promote and sell a broad portfolio of technical and compliance‑related services, ensuring alignment with client needs and procurement cycles.
Apply a consultative approach to identify complex customer challenges and deliver tailored solutions.
Drive new business development across industrial, engineering, and advanced manufacturing sectors.
Keep abreast of industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes to inform commercial strategy.
Represent the organisation at industry events, trade shows, and conferences, delivering engaging presentations when required.
Serve as a role model for best‑practice sales activity, providing guidance and support to less experienced team members.
Maintain a strong professional presence online to grow networks, share insights, and increase visibility.
Translate customer insight into actionable feedback to support product development and strategic planning.
Collaborate closely with internal departments to ensure commercial activity aligns with market demand.
Manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities, supporting bid development and proposal creation.

Essential Criteria

Strong understanding of machinery safety standards (PUWER, CE marking, ISO standards).
Knowledge of digital and connected solutions used in industrial environments.
Familiarity with operational technology cybersecurity.
Awareness of fast‑growing sectors such as data centres, critical infrastructure, and AI‑driven environments.
Proven track record in field sales with success securing large‑scale projects.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to engage effectively at all levels.
Confident public speaker with experience presenting at industry events or client meetings.
Strong CRM management and sales forecasting capability.
Competence in identifying and qualifying new opportunities via research, networking, and digital channels.
Strong negotiation skills and an understanding of pricing models for technical services.
Experience collaborating with technical teams to deliver bespoke solutions.
Self‑motivated, target‑driven, and effective working both independently and as part of a wider team.
Willingness to travel nationally and regionally.
Full UK driving licence required.
