Harvey Nash are representing a national leader in their field who are looking to add a Technical Lead/Development Manager to their team. This role will lead a small team of web, commerce and integration developers that are responsible for the platform that powers everything within their business. This role will work on a granular level, facilitating the smooth delivery of all projects and enhancements delivered by the team whilst working closely with the Software Development Director to develop the strategic direction of the core products. This is the perfect opportunity for those looking at their first step into software leadership or those who have become bored of the 'BAU management' role.
What are the key objectives?
Lead a small software development function;
Manage the day-to-day support and development of group systems;
Act as the Technical Lead and implement drive quality software either as hands-on or by implementing best practice;
Liaise with Project Managers, BA's and DevOps Manager to manage workload against stated timelines
Help to determine software roadmap with the Software Development Director;
Work closely with DevOps Manager to create tools and release automation so that deployments are painless and require minimal intervention;
Build a culture of employee and customer satisfaction based on operational excellence, big picture understanding, continuous improvement, and proactive thinking;
Seek and share good practice & knowledge to continuously improve own and team practices;
Provide effective oversight of the introduction of developed work to the production environment;
Monitor the writing of clean, testable, and well-documented code.
What are we looking for?
Technical experience as a senior developer, technical lead or a team leader in a Microsoft .NET environment;
Experience of Agile software development methodologies;
Ability to hold technical discussions with the team and offer solutions;
Logical and proactive approach to problem solving;
Excellent communication skills with positive attitude.
Any experience working within DevOps, Commerce, Azure or previous experience re-platforming Legacy application to modern platforms would be hugely beneficial.
