Community Centre Facilities Coordinator
  • Location: Castleford, WF10 postcode
  • Salary: £14.36 PAYE per hour
  • Flexible to cover shifts between 8am and 9pm, Monday to Friday

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Community Centre Facilities Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day operations of a vibrant community centre in Castleford. This role is crucial in maintaining a welcoming environment, facilitating activities, and ensuring the centre meets all compliance standards.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide a frontline reception service, supporting all services and functions within the centre and resolving building-related issues efficiently.
  • Manage and update the centre's presence on various social media platforms and the Council's website, ensuring all information is current and engaging.
  • Collaborate with the Business and Community Centre Coordinator to organise PR and marketing activities.
  • Handle bookings for meeting/event spaces, maintain the booking system, and manage invoicing for these bookings.
  • Prepare the centre for events, including setting up furniture, equipment, and catering stations as per requirements.
  • Ensure all equipment is in good working order and maintained properly.
  • Greet and assist customers professionally throughout their events, accommodating any last-minute needs.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors, ensuring high standards and adherence to service level agreements.
  • Manage financial responsibilities including cash handling, invoicing, stock control, and ordering of equipment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in a similar customer service and administrative role within a complex, customer-facing environment.
  • Proven ability to provide efficient and effective administrative support.
  • Skilled in problem-solving and capable of working under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
  • Experience in invoicing and handling payments for services.
  • General office, event coordination, and supervision skills.
  • Minimum of 4 GCSEs including English and Maths, or 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent customer care skills and a professional approach.
  • First Aid Certificate is desirable.
