GMP Recruitment are proud to be in partnership with a leading precision engineering company based in Gloucester, Gloucestershire, who supply high-quality components to a range of industries. We are currently recruiting on their behalf for a CNC Turner to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This position is site-based and is offering a competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience, with overtime opportunities at enhanced rates.

Working Hours:

  • Monday – Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
  • Friday: 7:00am – 1:00pm
  • Saturday overtime available at time and a half

Our client operates a busy and well-equipped manufacturing facility, specialising in high-precision machining. With a range of turning machines on site, they are seeking an experienced CNC Turner with around 3 years’ experience to set and operate machinery in the production of precision-engineered components.

CNC Turner Main Responsibilities:

  • Set and operate CNC turning machines to produce precision components.
  • Work to detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Carry out in-process quality checks using micrometers, verniers, gauges, and other measuring equipment.
  • Manufacture components to tight tolerances and meet production deadlines.
  • Maintain safe, clean, and organised work practices in line with company health & safety standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and problem-solving on the shopfloor.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and work independently to achieve production targets.
  • Set and operate manual lathes (Nicolás Correa) to produce precision components.

CNC Turner required skills and experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a CNC Turner in a precision engineering environment.
  • Proficiency in setting and operating CNC turning machines.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Good understanding of machining techniques and working to tight tolerances.
  • Confident using inspection and measuring tools.
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and flexible with a strong work ethic.
