I'm currently recruiting for a dedicated and empathetic Residential Support Worker to join a fantastic children's home near Ashford, Kent, supporting young people between the ages of 11-18 with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). You will be working with a well established organisation within children's Residential support.
**Due to the nature of this job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full UK manual driver's licence**
I'm searching for an OUTGOING and DRIVEN individual who wants to make a real difference in the lives of young people, enabling them to develop socially, emotionally and behaviourally in a setting where they are PUT FIRST.
You must be committed, passionate, engaging, encouraging and want to act as a mentor to the young people whilst having a whole lot of fun along the way!
Salary: £27,000 - £29,000 (sleep-in shift allowance included)
Location: Ashford, Kent
Hours: Full-Time
Contract: Permanent
Shift pattern: 4-week rolling rota, including sleep-in shifts
No two days are ever the same as a children's residential support worker, so you need to be happy to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. It can be challenging, but it's incredibly rewarding work!!

Responsibilities of a Children's Residential Support Worker:
To encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
Maintain a safe environment for young people.
Ensuring the safety of the students and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals that may be involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.
Requirements:
Experience as a Children's Residential Support Worker, or with Young People is desirable but not essential.
Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is desirable but not essential.
You must be a car driver as you will be required to transport young people from time to time.
You must be over the age of 21.
You must be able to commute to Ashford, Kent.
