About the Opportunity
Are you a passionate and qualified tutor ready to make a real difference outside the traditional classroom? Prospero Teaching is looking for Qualified Outreach Tutors to deliver tailored 1:1 education sessions to children who are currently without a school placement or who require after-school academic support in Barking, Dagenham, and surrounding boroughs.

Whether you're looking for a flexible alternative to mainstream teaching or hoping to expand your impact in a more personalised setting, this role offers the chance to bring learning directly to the children who need it most.

You'll design and deliver engaging, individualised sessions that bridge gaps in learning, reignite a love for education, and help young people many of whom have been out of education.

Contract/Position Details

Location: Barking & Dagenham and surrounding areas
Position: Qualified Outreach Tutor
Type of Work: 1:1 sessions with pupils at home, in libraries, or community settings
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Ongoing, based on student needs
Contract Type: Temporary
Hours: Flexible - sessions typically run 1 to 3 hours each
Rate of Pay: From £25 per hour
Availability: Both part-time and full-time roles availableIdeal Candidate Profile

Holds QTS, QTLS, or a PGCE or an ESOL/EAL qualifications - highly desirable
Strong background in delivering 1:1 support or small group teaching
Experience working with children with SEND, EAL, or SEMH needs
Comfortable planning and delivering bespoke lesson plans
Excellent communication and motivational skills
Able to build rapport and trust with pupils who may be disengaged or vulnerableEssential Requirements
To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:

Have the Right to Work in the UK
Hold (or be willing to apply for) an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
