Seeking Nurturing Teaching Staff

Monarch Education is excited to team up with SEND schools in and around Birmingham to recruit dedicated individuals with specialized skills in supporting students with complex learning needs and profound and multiple learning disabilities. For this role, you don't necessarily need to be a qualified teacher, but some education experience is essential. Have you worked with children or adults with SEND or profound and multiple learning difficulties? Perhaps you have experience as a support worker or in the care field or possess a degree in psychology or education-related field.

Requirements to apply:

  • SOME experience with disabilities. Maybe you've worked in special schools before, or taken a relevant course, perhaps you have a child or family member with PMLD needs?
  • Experience working in a school or education-based setting preferred but not essential
  • A knowledge of PMLD, BSL or Makaton would be a HUGE advantage
  • Willingness to provide personal care

The following skills would be advantageous:

  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with students, their families, and other professionals involved in their education
  • Patience and empathy to support and understand the unique needs and challenges faced by students with special needs
  • Knowledge of various learning strategies and accommodations to help students with different disabilities succeed in their education
  • Ability to build positive relationships and create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with special needs
