Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join our secondary school on a contract basis. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons to KS3-KS4, fostering strong literacy, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the national curriculum

Teach a range of English topics including literature, language, writing skills, and exam preparation

Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students

Assess, record, and report on student progress in line with school policies

Prepare students for internal and external examinations

Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field

Teaching qualification/certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)

Previous experience teaching English at secondary level preferred

Strong classroom management skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to motivate and inspire students

Commitment to safeguarding and student well being

Desirable Skills

Experience preparing students for standardised exams (e.g., GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level or equivalent)

Familiarity with digital learning tools and educational technology

Experience working in a multicultural or diverse school environment
