Process Optimisation Engineer - Remote - UK

An opportunity is available for an experienced Process Optimisation Engineer to work remotely, supporting projects across the petrochemical, refining, and chemical sectors. The role combines technical operational support with commercial insight to help clients maximise plant performance and profitability.

Applicants should have a degree in Chemical, Process, or Mechanical Engineering and substantial hands-on experience within refining, petrochemical, or chemical operations. Strong communication skills and a solid understanding of production planning, scheduling, and economics are essential.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing technical support to assess and optimise operational performance

Evaluating site economic performance and identifying opportunities for improvement

Supporting production planning and scheduling activities

Advising on operational-commercial strategies to enhance facility value

Communicating effectively across different organisational levels

Delivering clear written reports and professional presentations

Applying process safety principles and understanding major accident hazards

Supporting economic optimisation studies using linear programming tools

Candidates should be comfortable working independently and engaging with clients at both technical and leadership levels
