Spaldwick is a small, friendly community situated just off the A14, four miles north east of Kimbolton and seven miles west of Huntingdon. Cambridge is now 25 minutes away by car thanks to the new A14 Huntingdon bypass. Spaldwick has a primary school, playgroup, popular pub, ultrafast 'gigabit' broadband (arriving in 2021) and a service station with shop and restaurants.
You must be able to demonstrate experience of leading the improvement of teaching and learning.
This classroom-based position requires a highly skilled practitioner who can manage their time effectively to ensure positive outcomes in their own classroom as well as build upon recent successes in improving standards through coaching, inspiring and motivating others in order to improve outcomes for all pupils.
Spaldwick is on an exciting journey of improvement. Alongside leading the development of teaching and learning, the successful candidate will also play a key role in leading the implementation of the school's curriculum and be responsible for the coordination of innovative and bespoke CPD for all staff.
You must be able to demonstrate that you:
-are an excellent classroom practitioner with a strong track record of positive outcomes for all pupils
-are an inspirational, energetic and highly motivated leader - you must be experienced in leading whole school change and transforming learning with noticeable impact on pupil achievement
-have experience of leading a core subject and/or can give examples of how they have improved the practice of other colleagues or settings (e.g. as leader in own school or as SLE)
-possess a deep understanding of curriculum design and pedagogy to ensure exceptional learning for all
-engage with, and use, educational research and ongoing professional development to improve their own knowledge and understanding
-have a sound understanding of safeguarding requirements and is a Designated Safeguarding Lead (if not already a DSL, there will be a requirement to take on the role of Deputy DSL)
-are a colleague who models positivity, is organised, takes pride in their role and possesses a good sense of humour
