About the Role

We are working with a national haulage business and seeking an experienced HGV Driver Trainer with compliance and investigation responsibilities to join a Midlands based operation. This is a dual-function role combining driver training, regulatory compliance oversight, and incident investigation management.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver professional HGV driver training and assessment in accordance with DVLA standards

• Manage licence compliance and ensure all drivers meet regulatory requirements

• Conduct incident and accident investigations; prepare detailed reports and recommendations

• Monitor driver behaviour, telematics data, and CPC (Continuing Professional Competence) compliance

• Identify training needs and deliver remedial coaching where required

• Support DVSA inspections and maintain audit trail documentation

• Liaise with enforcement bodies and manage disciplinary processes

Essential Requirements

• Current HGV Category C or above licence with clean driving record

• Recognised HGV driver trainer qualification (DVLA approved) is advantageous

• Strong investigative and reporting skills

• Excellent communication and coaching abilities

• Proficiency with telematics systems and office software

Desirable

• Health & Safety or Compliance certification

• FORS accreditation experience

• Experience with incident management software
