Financial Controller Salary: £60,000 – £70,000Location: Remote – Chorley office must be accessibleA fast-growing national business, with a strong track record of strategic acquisitions, is seeking a Financial Controller to join them. With rapid expansion through M&A activity, this is a unique opportunity to shape the finance function of a key business unit within a wider group.Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, the successful candidate will lead the finance operations. You will play a key role in partnering with senior leaders across multiple branches and ensuring timely, accurate and insightful financial reporting, with a strong emphasis on balance sheet integrity and performance visibility.Role duties:

• Lead the production and ongoing enhancement of monthly management accounts and reports.
• Drive performance conversations and lead monthly close meetings with business unit leaders.
• Act as a trusted finance business partner to senior management across the division.
• Own the budgeting and forecasting process, in collaboration with Group planning teams.
• Produce cash flow reports to support operational decisions.
• Manage and develop a team of transactional finance professionals and management accountants.
• Support system implementations

• Assist with year-end audit requirements and tax-related queries, including VAT and corporation tax.
• Coordinate with Group finance to ensure consistency and accuracy across reporting entities.

Requirements:

• Qualified accountant (or QBE) with strong technical understanding and commercial acumen.
• Prior experience leading and developing finance teams, ideally across multiple sites.
• Proactive, solutions-focused, and comfortable working independently.
• Strong knowledge of cash flow, creditor, and debtor management.
