Sourcing and Procurement Manager | £600 - £646 per day Umbrella Co. | Milton Keynes | Hybrid | 6-Months +

For a Transport organisation based in Milton Keynes, we are recruiting a Procurement and Sourcing Manager for least 6-months. The Procurement and Sourcing Manager will manage the sourcing activities for multi-million-pound opportunities, including strategic thinking and continuous improvement across complex spend categories. This is a key role, working collaboratively with customers and stakeholders to create significant commercial and contractual value.

Main Duties:

  • Lead sourcing and procurement from requirement gathering to contract signature for a range of categories, delivering significant commercial and contractual value
  • Implement approved Integrated Category Strategies (ICS) through the development of the sourcing pipeline, partnering with Category Managers, ensuring savings and benefits are delivered.
  • Apply Sourcing Framework for opportunities outside of ICS within an OJEU environment to manage all risk, governance, and regulatory requirements
  • Act as expert negotiator of sourcing savings and benefits in collaboration with Finance
  • Develop and implement sourcing ideas and innovation-based business cases
  • Facilitate the transition of Sourcing led execution, to Strategic Supplier Management
  • Demand-manage and challenge customer and stakeholder requirements
  • Develop and manage sourcing aligned continuous improvement activities to deliver a best-in-class procurement vision
  • Develop the external marketing sourcing practices including commercial models, and the implementation of best practice.

Person Specification:

  • CIPS Qualified with proven PA2023 knowledge
  • Excellent sourcing and procurement experience
  • Track record of delivering savings within the public sector or transport
  • Excellent contract law and financial management experience
  • Strong experience of direct and indirect influencing strategies at Exec. Level
  • Ability to drive value from complex sourcing opportunities
  • Experience working in a central government and complex public sector setting
