We are delighted to present an exceptional opportunity for a Teaching Assistant at a prestigious ASD specialist school in rural Hassocks.
Catering to students aged 11-19 with autism and other complex needs, the school is dedicated to creating a supportive and enriching environment that enables every student to succeed.
Day-to-day of the role: - Work in close partnership with the class teacher to provide high-quality learning support.
- Offer pastoral care and contribute to the planning and delivery of lessons tailored to individual student needs.
- Monitor student progress and assist in behaviour management within the classroom.
- Uphold safeguarding principles and ensure a safe learning environment.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and accompany students on educational trips.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - A strong commitment to supporting the development and wellbeing of students with special educational needs.
- Experience in a teaching assistant, learning support assistant, or learning mentor role within an SEN setting.
- Relevant qualifications or training, such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with the SEN Code of Practice and the National Curriculum.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A flexible and adaptable approach, with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
