The Group Finance Manager will oversee financial operations and reporting for my client in the Education sector. This role in London requires proficiency in Xero and a strong understanding of processes including budgeting & forecasting, cash flow monitoring, financial reporting, analysis & insights, and managing direct reports abroad.

My client is a leading figure in Central London's professional education sector and has been established for over 60 years. As a small-sized UK team, they maintain a robust presence in London and are committed to delivering impactful programmes in their sector. Currently outsourcing some transactional finance processes to India, they are looking for a Group Finance Manager to keep things tied over in the UK, working closely with Senior Management, and ensure that the company runs smoothly and efficiently, with scope to implement a new ERP system in the future to support that.
Description
- Prepare and oversee consolidated financial statements and reports.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
- Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes across the organisation.
- Oversee payroll operations and maintain accurate financial records.
- Utilise Xero to streamline accounting processes and ensure data accuracy.
- Collaborate with department heads to monitor expenditure and allocate resources effectively.
- Lead and mentor the finance team to achieve departmental objectives.
- Act as a key contact for external auditors and stakeholders.
Profile
A successful Group Finance Manager should have:
- A professional qualification in accounting or finance (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Minimum 3-5 years industry experience in a similar role.
- The ability to work remotely, and be able to come into the office in Kensington when required.
- Experience in financial reporting and budgeting.
- Proficiency in Xero and other accounting software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A detail-oriented approach with the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders effectively.
