Transport Co-ordinator - Walsall

Temporary to Permanent assignment

Monday - Thursday 8am-5pm

Friday 8am - 13.30pm

Lunch (unpaid) 1 hour Monday - Thursday, 1/2 hour on Friday.

Hours 37 hours

Starting hourly rate - £12.50 per hour, rising to £13.50 per hour after 12 weeks.

Job role:

A Transport Coordinator with FLT (Forklift Truck) training is a who will manage the movement of goods within our warehouse and yard, while also being certified to operate a forklift for loading, unloading, and moving materials. They will also ensure timely and safe delivery of goods while also maintaining the efficient flow of materials within the operational area.

Key responsibilities as our Site Traffic Coordinator will include:

· Arranging cost effective transport for our customers within our external haulier database, sending email confirmations and raising purchase orders.

· Booking in customer deliveries to site where required, using customer own systems e.g. datascope.

· Co-ordinate other FLT drivers within the company onto required tasks

· Maintain company booking in procedures and calendar diary to avoid traffic congestion within business

· Direct and guide vehicle movements safely within the yard or loading area.

· Communicate clearly with drivers.

· Receive goods, perform quality checks and sign delivery notes, ensuring paperwork is received by office.

· Maintain clear and safe access routes for vehicles and pedestrians.

· Work closely with warehouse and transport teams to coordinate flow.

· Wear appropriate PPE and adhere to all health and safety guidelines.

· Remain vigilant and focused in a fast-paced working environment.

Skills we're looking for in our Site Traffic Coordinator:

· Trained and certified as a Banksman/Yard Marshal (desirable).

· Trained and certified as a FLT operator (desirable).

· Experience of working in a fast-paced logistics environment (desirable).

· Team player.

· Good communication skills.

· Full training can be provided for the right candidate.
