TITLE: Quality Assurance Auditor, Coding Services

WAGE CATEGORY: Hourly, Non-exempt

REPORTS TO: Manager, Coding Services

LOCATION: Anaheim, California

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with experience


JOB STATEMENT: The Quality Assurance Auditor, Coding Services, is responsible for the quality performance, quality oversight, and training of MediRevv Coders as well as the development of the MediRevv coding quality assurance program.  The Quality Assurance Auditor, Coding Services, will also perform routine audits to identify additional training opportunities.

- Adhere to benchmarks and strive for continuous improvement on client service metrics

- Comply with MediRevv policies such as time and attendance to ensure appropriate coverage for MediRevv clients



- Participate in the development of all training documentation for all MediRevv coding clients

- Support the preparation of client training manuals for new implementations

- Perform frequent coding audit reviews for all MediRevv coders

- Meet with individual staff to conduct quality assurance scoring and feedback

- Communicate quality issues to the Manager of Coding Services for monthly review of client performance and staff needs analysis

- Prepare and distribute quality assurance performance statistics

- Provide education and coding support to coding services team

- Mentor and teach apprentice coders

- Provide educational coding sessions for all MediRevv staff

- Perform other duties or special projects as needed



- High School diploma or equivalent required  

- Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

- Minimum of three (3)+ years of coding experience

- Outpatient physician coding experience preferred

- AHIMA or AAPC coding certificate

- Nationally recognized coding credential such as CPMA, CPC, COC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA or RHIT

- Understanding of all or a combination of ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, medical terminology and HIPAA Compliance

- Ability to motivate staff to improve performance

- Capacity to maintain a high level of objectivity when completing audits

- Requires strong typing and computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite in a Windows environment

- Allscripts, Advanced Web and/or Meditech experience highly desirable



May include exposure to potentially hazardous material, infectious agents, contact with patients, public and staff.



Sitting for long periods of time, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, pushing/pulling, lifting/carrying up to 15 pounds, and grasping.
