Test Technician – PPC High Wycombe Full-Time | Permanent

We are currently recruiting for a Test Technician to join a well-established and growing organisation based in High Wycombe. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong mechanical and electrical testing experience to play a key role within a quality-focused engineering environment.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday
• 07:00 – 16:00 or 08:00 – 17:00
Early finish every Friday:
• 07:00 – 12:00 or 08:00 – 13:00

The Role

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Test Technician will be responsible for the testing, inspection and measurement of slip ring and potentiometer products, ensuring they meet strict quality and performance standards.

You will conduct both mechanical and electrical testing, record inspection results, and support quality investigations when required.

The role is primarily based at the High Wycombe office, although occasional visits to customer or supplier sites may be required depending on business needs.

Key Responsibilities


• Carry out mechanical and electrical inspection and testing of incoming components, sub-assemblies and finished products.
• Perform testing on electromechanical rotating devices, including insulation, electrical noise and voltage drop testing.
• Identify and report surface defects such as nicks, burrs, pits and scratches.
• Follow inspection standards and documentation procedures to ensure consistency in measurement and reporting.
• Support the investigation of internal and external quality concerns, including quarantined parts and customer returns.
• Assist with identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, reports and documentation.
• Support departmental KPIs and performance tracking.
• Adhere to 5S standards, health & safety and environmental policies.
• Assist with risk assessments relating to departmental processes and tasks.

Skills & Experience


• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical testing practices.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment and electrical testing tools.
• Ability to read and interpret CAD and technical drawings accurately.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience producing inspection reports and documentation.
• Strong communication, organisation and time management skills.
• Ability to work closely with both manufacturing and quality teams.

Experience working with slip rings or similar electromechanical rotating devices would be advantageous but is not essential.
