If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN/SEMH Teacher for a rewarding role in the Wakefield area. We are looking for someone to work with a dedicated team, providing vital support to children.
Key Responsibilities As an SEN/SEMH Teacher, you will be instrumental in creating a secure and supportive learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:

Confidently adapting and delivering lessons to meet the diverse needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and SEMH challenges.

Using your skills to de-escalate difficult situations and help pupils regain a sense of calm and focus.

Planning and executing bespoke learning plans that are tailored to the unique academic and social needs of each pupil.

Working closely with teaching assistants and external specialists to ensure a coordinated and effective support system.

Encouraging pupils to develop their own learning strategies and social skills, helping them build confidence and self-reliance.
Requirements To succeed in this position, you must possess:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

A proven background in teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

An Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for a new one).

The legal right to work in the UK without any restrictions.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to build rapport with pupils and colleagues.

A calm, patient, and highly resilient approach.

Specific training in areas such as Team Teach, Makaton, or PECS is highly desirable.
