Empower Young Lives as an SEN Secondary Teacher with Academics
Academics is seeking a resilient and subject-specialist SEN Teacher to join a dedicated provision in South Yorkshire, where your expertise will help secondary-aged learners rediscover their academic potential.
Your Role:
Deliver Specialist Secondary Education: You will harness your subject knowledge to deliver an adapted secondary curriculum. Your focus will be on breaking down barriers to learning, using a therapeutic approach to teach core subjects in a way that resonates with students who have struggled in mainstream settings.
Foster a Culture of Achievement: Move beyond behaviour management; your goal is academic re-engagement. You will create a structured, consistent environment where older students feel safe to take academic risks, preparing them for life beyond the classroom through tangible qualifications and skills.
Who We Are Looking For:
A qualified secondary teacher (QTS) with proven experience navigating the complexities of SEMH, ASD, or challenging behaviours within a Key Stage 3 or 4 setting.
An authoritative yet compassionate practitioner who understands the nuances of adolescent development and can maintain high academic expectations while offering emotional support.
An educator who finds deep satisfaction in helping disengaged teenagers build resilience, confidence, and a clear pathway toward their future.
Essential Requirements:
An up-to-date Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, or a firm commitment to obtaining one immediately.
Robust professional references that speak directly to your effectiveness in managing secondary-aged pupils with additional needs.
What's In It For You?
Specialist Focus: Step into a role designed specifically for a secondary practitioner. You will work within a school that understands the unique demands of teaching older students with SEN, offering resources and support tailored to that mission.
Competitive Pay: Attractive daily rates that reflect the specialist skills and resilience required to excel in a secondary SEN environment.
