This position is based in our 19 bedded ward caring for acute medical patients with a posture of breast surgery patients and day case procedures ie. Iron infusions, interventional Radiology procedures (biopsies etc).
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be responsible for providing skilled clinical assistance to the nursing and medical teams. The successful candidate will participate in the assessment of patient care needs and implement and maintain the agreed standards of care.
In this role, you will assist in delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring comfort, safety and respect for individual cultural and religious needs. You will act as a patient advocate, reporting any concerns or issues raised during conversations to the nursing team.
The post holder will report on patients’ conditions when required and accurately record clinical observations, including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, urinalysis, blood glucose, weight and height.
You will prepare dressings and procedures under the direction of the clinical team and assist nursing and medical staff with a range of procedures, working under appropriate supervision and within your competencies.
Further assisting with both patient and non-patient manual handling, cleaning duties and waste disposal, re-stocking and ensuring the ward is tidy.
