About the Role:

Prospero Teaching is seeking a special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) TA with a calm and caring nature to assist at a secondary school in Liverpool in September 2025. The ideal candidate will have a passion and enthusiasm for going above and beyond for a child who presents SEN difficulties and challenging behaviour. This role offers the chance to make a real difference in a child's life by providing dedicated support and encouragement.

SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Liverpool, L25

Start Date: September 2025

Contract Type: Long-term

Working Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

Pay: Paid to scale

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored support to a child with SEN difficulties and challenging behaviour, ensuring their safety and engagement in learning activities.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Support classroom teachers with daily activities and help maintain a stimulating classroom atmosphere.
Encourage student independence and self-confidence.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with SEND pupils.
Experience working within a school or similar setting.
Team Teach Qualification (desirable).
Right to Work in the UK.
Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for a new one.
Ability to provide two professional references.
