We have a new opportunity for a proactive, people-focused HR Adviser to join our supportive and collaborative HR Business Partnering (HRBP) team on an 18-month fixed-term contract. If you enjoy variety in your day, and being the go-to person for practical HR support this could be the role for you.

About the Role:

This is a hands-on generalist role offering front-line HR advice and support to employees and managers. You'll be part of a wider HR team, working closely with colleagues to ensure HR advice is consistent, responsive, and aligned with policies and best practice.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Be the first point of contact for day-to-day HR queries
  • Advise on straightforward employee relations cases (e.g. sickness, probation, performance)
  • Prepare documentation, take notes in meetings, and keep accurate records
  • Support managers with ER meetings and ensure smooth processes around fixed-term contracts
  • Collaborate on HR projects, data analysis and policy development
  • Help us keep things running smoothly behind the scenes with great organisation and follow-through

About you:

You might be early in your HR career or already in a similar role.

Essential Skills:
  • Experience of working in a HR team/environment
  • Excellent communication skills and proven professional customer-focused approach
  • Strong attention to detail and proficiency around letter-writing and note-taking
  • Demonstrable excellent customer service skills and a flexible pragmatic approach
  • Team working skills and an ability to deliver project outcomes
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities and maintain calm and organised in approach
  • Well-developed IT skills and experience of interpreting reports/data analysis
  • Demonstrable ability to use a flexible and pragmatic approach to problem-solving
  • Proven ability of interpreting reports and carrying out standard data analysis tools

About the team:

You'll be joining our HR Business Partnering Team, who work closely with leaders, managers and employees across the Institute. They support a wide range of people-related work, from guiding managers through employee relations cases and conflict resolution, to shaping and delivering major change programmes and organisation-wide initiatives.

The HRBP team sit within the Human Resources Team who are made up of expert functions and include, EDI, Learning & Engagement, HR Services & Systems and the Talent Acquisition Team.

Other Information:
  • Hybrid/flexible working - minimum 2 days in the office
  • Salary range in the region of £33,000 to £40,000
  • Contract length: 18 months
