The primary responsibility is driving business growth through the combination of new sales and executing product and service development opportunities. Identifying new opportunities, and determining optimal pricing to balance profit with client/customer satisfaction.

This role will be responsible for delivering the annual sales targets, working closely with the other members of the leadership team and implementing the key strategies to deliver the budgeted growth across the organisation, based on a realistic analysis of the market opportunities, historical sales performance, sales activity, conversion ratios and existing and planned sales resourcing. Build a healthy and sustainable sales pipeline.

Key Skills & Experience Required

Essential

* Minimum 5 years' Sales Executive experience within the logistics sector (haulage and / or courier based), ideally with knowledge of dangerous goods (ADR).

* Excellent geographical knowledge (UK and some European)

* Previous experience of delivering a sales function to a high level including:

* efficient coordination of best practice sales process / CRM / sales tools;

* account management / customer service;

* proactive in making daily sales calls;

* high quality coordination of bid management process and documentation;

* development and closure of sales on a regular basis.

* IT skills: experienced user of full Microsoft Office Suite to intermediate level and Sales CRM software.

* Excellent self-management skills: well organised with the ability to prioritise tasks, deliver under pressure to strict deadlines and work methodically, complying with procedures at all times.

* Excellent written communication skills with strong accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to produce letters, emails, quotes, tenders and reports to a high standard of quality.

* Effective verbal communicator. Must be articulate, comfortable with face to face and phone communication and able to choose the appropriate method to fit the situation.

* Good numeracy / analytical skills with ability to interpret data/information.

* Strong commercial awareness.

* Positive, flexible, willing and approachable with the ability to work as part of a team and positively influence others
