Field Service Engineer - Heavy Plant Machinery - Huntingdon - £40,000 Basic + £45,000 OTE About the Company If you're a skilled Field Service Engineer with hands-on experience maintaining heavy plant machines and equipment, and you're ready to join a company that values expertise and professionalism, apply now! This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who is confident working independently and has a strong background in servicing and repairing heavy plant machinery.  Our client is a trusted service provider specialising in the maintenance and repair of heavy construction equipment, including hydraulic excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, forklifts, rollers, and wheeled shovels. With a focus on maximising equipment uptime, they provide expert on-site support through preventative maintenance, inspections, and rapid fault resolution. Field Service Engineer - The Rewards
  • Basic Salary: Circa £40,000 (DOE)
  • OTE up to £45,000
  • Overtime Paid at 1.5x
  • Monday to Friday Working Pattern
  • All Specialist Tools and PPE Provided

Field Service Engineer - Requirements
  • Must be competent in repairing and maintaining large plant machinery, including excavators and wheeled shovels
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic capabilities across hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Physically fit for lone working and heavy lifting
  • Comfortable working on and under heavy machinery
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and critical thinking skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Able to manage time effectively and work without supervision
Field Service Engineer - Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults on-site
  • Perform regular servicing and preventative maintenance on a range of heavy plant machinery
  • Independently attend customer sites to troubleshoot issues efficiently
  • Maintain accurate job cards, timesheets, and parts requests
  • Deliver high-quality customer service and build strong client relationships
  • Supervise apprentices when required
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and internal procedures
  • All personal tools must be safe and legal for use
  • Only company-supplied lifting equipment may be used
  • Personal and colleague safety is a priority and part of daily responsibilities
  • Compliance with all relevant safety and procedural standards is essential
