We’re recruiting an Accounts Senior Manager in Inverness on behalf of a well-established and growing accountancy practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior finance professional to take ownership of a client portfolio, provide technical leadership, and drive both client and team growth across key sectors.
The Role
As Accounts Senior Manager you will be responsible for the effective and profitable management of a portfolio of clients, providing proactive and high-quality advisory and compliance services. You will also play a central role in leading your team and supporting business development initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of clients in key sectors, ensuring efficient and profitable delivery of services
- Applying technical knowledge and business expertise to provide first-rate, proactive advice to clients
- Supporting clients’ growth while assisting team members with their development and business development activities
- Leading, mentoring, and managing staff, promoting cross-firm collaboration and best practice
- Engaging in business development to grow the client base in line with firm strategy
- Working with the Area Operations Manager to ensure resource planning aligns with current and new work
- Reviewing and signing off client accounts, ensuring accurate and timely billing
- Acting as a trusted advisor to both colleagues and clients, delivering technical information effectively
You will be central to maintaining strong client relationships and helping shape the strategic direction of the business advisory team.
About You
You will be a qualified accountant (ICAS, ACCA, or equivalent) with strong leadership and business development skills.
You’ll demonstrate:
- Leadership of your own work and the ability to develop and mentor others
- Strong business development and networking skills
- The ability to advocate for change and contribute thought leadership in your sector specialisms
- Excellent organisational skills, prioritisation, and communication skills to manage deadlines effectively
- A good working knowledge of Xero, Sage, and Silverfin is advantageous
- A proactive, client-focused, and commercially aware approach
You are confident, technically competent, and motivated to deliver both exceptional client service and team development.
