Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home ?? Slough, Berkshire?? Full-time | Permanent?? Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)
We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a Registered Manager to lead our children’s home in Slough. This role is ideal for a passionate and experienced professional who is ready to shape a nurturing, high-quality environment that supports the growth and wellbeing of young people.
Key Responsibilities - Ensure full compliance with the requirements of the Registered and Placing Authority, Children’s Home Regulations, and Ofsted’s Social Care Common Inspection Framework (SCCIF).
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment that meets all safeguarding standards and local authority procedures.
- Oversee referrals, assessments, and admissions, ensuring timely and appropriate placements.
- Ensure all care plans, pathway plans, and placement plans are accurate, up to date, and consistently followed by staff.
- Provide direct care and supervision when needed, including covering staff absences.
- Lead and support staff in managing challenging behaviours, promoting a shift from external control to self-regulation among young people.
- Support key workers in delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
Required Skills & Qualifications - Minimum 2 years’ experience (within the last 5 years) in residential childcare.
- At least 1 year of experience in a management role within a residential setting.
- Proven ability to supervise and lead a team of care professionals.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, child development, and relevant legislation.
- Physically and mentally fit to manage the demands of the role.
- Full and satisfactory compliance with Schedule 2 of the Children’s Homes Regulations.
