A welcoming school in Barnet is searching for an ambitious experienced teaching assistant to provide 1:1 Support for a year 1 child with ASD. The ideal candidate for this position will have previous experience working with children, preferably with children with ASD or other Special Educational Needs.
This is the perfect role for an aspiring educational psychologist with a particular passion for providing support for children with Autism. You must be both empathetic and resilient in nature to be successful as a Graduate Teaching Assistant- 1:1 Autism Support.
As a 1:1 Autism support assistant you will be working exclusively with a boy who is entering year 1. He is on the Autism spectrum and has communication barriers he is non verbal and is known to be fairly introverted.
The school has a reputation for using graduates in these key support roles and has seen many of these go on to be accepted on teacher training or educational psychology courses. In this schools Inclusion team, you will work closely with the SENCO who will provide you with all the support and training you need to provide effective support for the child.
