Maintenance Engineer Nottingham Double Days £40,000 - £50,000

About the Role

We're recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing manufacturer in Nottingham, looking for a multiskilled maintenance engineer to join their team. This is a brand-new, hands-on role within a modern, high-paced production environment-ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, improving reliability, and being a vital part of day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to reactive breakdowns

Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults on production equipment

Support installation and commissioning of new machinery

Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance, repairs, and improvements

Work on a range of systems: conveyors, chillers, weighers, mixers, and packaging lines

Minimise downtime and improve reliability with proactive solutions

Uphold food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards

Assist with automation projects and other continuous improvement initiatives

Provide informal support or mentoring to junior engineers or apprentices

What You'll Bring

Previous experience in a multiskilled engineering role, ideally within food, FMCG, or manufacturing

Comfortable with both mechanical and electrical disciplines (approximately 60/40 or 50/50 split)

Skilled in fault-finding and repair across a variety of production machinery

Experience with PLC systems, sensors, VFDs, and electrical wiring

Welding, fabrication, or machinery modification experience is a plus

Calm under pressure, highly organised, and solutions-focused

Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
