Services Engineer (Mechanical) - Annual Salary: £40 per hour Umbrella

We are seeking a Services Engineer (Mechanical) to join our Building Services Team within the Property & Estate Management Service. This role is crucial for leading and directing multi-disciplinary design teams and delivering mechanical services response maintenance work, improvement, and refurbishment projects from feasibility to completion.
Day-to-day of the role: - Lead and direct multi-disciplinary design teams to deliver mechanical engineering projects from inception to completion.
- Carry out and commission condition surveys, support services, and surveys.
- Provide technical assessments and detail to response repair requests, issue orders to contractors, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to response time targets.
- Responsible for the preparation of specifications, tender documentation, and contract drawings for mechanical engineering works.
- Manage the mechanical engineering aspects of projects, including planning applications, building control approval, tendering, on-site inspections, and final completion.
- Liaise with various stakeholders including Council officers, schools, academies, building managers, contractors, and external agencies to ensure timely planning and completion of works.
- Ensure all works meet internal and legislatively prescribed accessibility and energy efficiency standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Proven experience in mechanical engineering or building services, particularly in a leadership role managing projects from inception to completion.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design packages and other computer-based programs such as AutoCAD, NBS, NES, and Microsoft Office.
- Advanced knowledge of current and emerging legislation and best practices in mechanical engineering maintenance, design, and decarbonisation.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to effectively communicate with clients and contractors.
- Ability to plan, manage time effectively, and prioritize workload with minimal supervision.
- Relevant qualifications such as ONC/OND, HNC/HND in Building Services, or working towards Chartered Membership of CIBSE (or equivalent).
- Awareness of current construction industry-related health and safety legislation.
