Assistant Management Accountant

Position: Assistant Management Accountant

Location: Huddersfield

Department: Finance

Salary : £32k-£35k depending on experience.

Main Purpose of Job:

• Reporting directly into the FD, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the Finance Department deliver on deadlines and MI - which provides the meaningful commercial insight to drive strategic decisions.

Main Duties/Key Tasks:

• Prepare and post accounting journals, with a focus on month-end procedures.
• Execute month-end close activities and facilitate P&L preparation.
• Conduct variance analysis, providing insightful commentary against budget and prior year performance.
• Maintain balance sheet integrity through meticulous reconciliations and analysis.
• Oversee payment runs, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Submit quarterly VAT returns in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to budget preparation, aligning financial goals with organisational objectives.
• Administer the fixed asset register, including posting depreciation.
• Support year-end audit activities and assist in the preparation of statutory accounts

Experience required:

Would suit a part qualified CIMA or ACCA, with a minimum of 18 months experience within industry.
