Our client is an expert at turning humble vegetables into inspired, trend-setting ingredients for the modern flexitarian market. In a world where plant-based eating is booming, they make sure vegetables get the spotlight they deserve.

The Role

As a Raw Material Technologist, you will be a key member of the technical team, ensuring that every ingredient coming through the doors is top-notch. Reporting to the Senior Raw Material Technologist, your role is all about quality, safety, and building great relationships with suppliers to make sure customers get the very best.

What you will be doing:

Quality Spot-Checks: You will be responsible for inspecting raw materials to make sure they match up perfectly with agreed specifications.

Supplier Partnerships: Working hand-in-hand with the supply chain team, you will chat with suppliers and keep an eye on how they are performing.

Problem Solving: When things don't go quite to plan, you will help the Operations team find practical, on-site solutions for any material challenges.

*

Raising Standards: If there's a dip in quality, you will be the one to flag it, tracking non-conformances and making sure corrective actions are sorted.

*

Keeping it Safe: From Health & Safety to Food Safety (GMP), you will ensure everything is done by the book to protect the business and the consumer.

Expert Input: You will share your raw material knowledge with the wider technical team to help create the documentation customers rely on.

What you will need:

A Technical Background: Previous experience working with raw materials in a technical food role is essential.

*

The Right Certifications: You should hold Level 2 HACCP and Level 2 Food Safety qualifications.

*

Great People Skills: You will need to be a confident communicator, whether you are talking to the team on the shop floor or external suppliers.

*

A Proactive Approach: You are someone who loves to get stuck in and solve problems practically.

*

IT Savvy: You will be comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, and Word).
