Container Control Coordinator
Full time, permanent
We are looking for a detail-focused and organised individual who can accurately manage container movements, stock control, and empty equipment processes. You will be confident maintaining accurate records, preparing reports for internal and international stakeholders, and supporting the wider team in a fast-paced environment.
How you will help us and what you can expect
- Responsible for controlling container stock levels across all operational ports and depots, ensuring export requirements are achieved, and highlighting discrepancies in a timely manner to the appropriate parties.
- Accurate & timely preparation of daily/weekly reports to MSC Geneva and UK Management.
- Management of EDI events in local and global systems ensuring prompt and accurate updates.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all internal departments and third-party suppliers through daily communication on container related matters, including ageing units, damaged equipment, and associated reporting.
- Responsible for Hanging Garment Containers, ensuring their accurate return and maintaining strict oversight of their movements and status.
- Coordinating the timely movement of off-hire equipment within local systems, working closely with transport to ensure smooth operations.
- Issue and reconcile depot equipment release via internal/external systems.
- Investigate, report and recover any costs which result from mis-released containers.
- Control of full depot expenditure covering lift, storage and repairs within budgeted amounts.
- Investigate and rebill all recoverable costs in line with management guidelines.
Skills and experience you’ll bring to us
- Proven ability to manage and forward plan within a fast paced, demanding and constantly evolving environment.
- Ability to address and resolve day to day business issues with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good numeracy, literacy, and IT skills, including Microsoft skills (Outlook, Excel/ Destin8/Link/Paris).
- Be able to demonstrate a professional manner at all times.
- Ability to be flexible and meet strict deadlines.
- Must remain focused on prioritisation of day-to-day emails and tasks.
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
