Job Description

Job Summary: Maintains, provides user support, and oversees all aspects of the Computer-Aided Drafting operations. Working closely with engineers/architects, management, support staff and outside vendors. Major Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

· Manage the firm’s CAD resources;

· Programming and administrating Autodesk (Infrastructure and Building Design Suites);

· Ensure stable and streamlined operations of in-house CADD software;

· Analyze and resolve user CADD program issues in a timely and accurate fashion;

· create and implement new streamlined work processes by maximizing the use of software automation in both rafting and design by developing and implementing drafting guidelines

· Ensure consistent and uniform work flow

· Mentor drafters whenever applicable

· Develop and provide in-house training programs on appropriate CAD issues

· Maintain the firm’s drafting standards, CAD standards, and standard details library; ensure that these standards are used on all projects

· Provide recommendations to Management for hardware/software purchases

· QA/QC of CAD work performed by CAD staff when asked

· Provide production CAD support when needed

· Organize the CAD environment

· Supply technical support for all CAD software

· Interact on project standards coordination with PM’s

· Provide leadership and vision to the firm in the area of CAD

· Conduct project related model reviews

· Clean up CAD files for project closeout

· Able to work with Engineers and Designers in coordinating the generation of accurate, presentable engineering drawings from redlines or other design schematics provided.

· Able to work with external parties (clients, vendors, consultants) to coordinate all project specific CAD related work and resolve any issues that may arise.

· Produce AutoCAD plans, elevations, sections and detail drawings

· Coordinate with vendors, suppliers and consultants (samples, purchasing, procurement)

· Office administration (filing, material library management, etc.)

· Interview and review staff
