Responsibilities:

  1. Classroom Support:

    • Assist teachers in delivering high-quality lessons, providing support to individual students or small groups.
    • Take responsibility for leading lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring continuity in the learning process.
  2. Curriculum Development:

    • Contribute to the planning and development of curriculum resources.
    • Adapt teaching materials to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring inclusively in the learning environment.
  3. Assessment and Progress Monitoring:

    • Assist in assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback to both students and teachers.
    • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to implement and monitor individual education plans (IEPs).
  4. Behaviour Management:

    • Foster a positive and respectful learning environment.
    • Implement behaviour management strategies, working closely with the school's policies and procedures.
  5. Supporting Special Educational Needs (SEN):

    • Provide targeted support for students with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met.
    • Collaborate with the SENCO and other professionals to implement interventions effectively.
  6. Parental Engagement:

    • Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
    • Attend parent-teacher meetings and other school events as required.
  7. Professional Development:

    • Engage in continuous professional development to stay informed about educational best practices and innovations.
    • Contribute to the development and delivery of training sessions for support staff as needed.

Requirements:

  1. Qualifications:

    • Hold a relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
    • Possess HLTA status or equivalent experience and qualifications.
  2. Experience:

    • Proven experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or similar role.
    • Experience working with students across different age groups and abilities.
  3. Skills:

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
    • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  4. Attributes:

    • Enthusiastic, patient, and committed to supporting student development.
    • Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced educational environment.
